The Beaumont Wilshire neighborhood is located in Northeast Portland. It is actually made up of two neighborhoods, who have joined to what we now know as, Beaumont-Wilshire neighborhood. Beaumont and Wilshire are two separate areas, with Fremont dividing the two. North of Fremont is Wilshire, while the south is Beaumont. From this neighborhood, you can see stunning views of downtown Portland, and Willamette River.

There’s a good mix of residential and commercial areas in this neighborhood. Residents shop in Beaumont Village, as it has vast retail shops, cafes and restaurants. Alameda Ridge is also part of Beaumont, which means “beautiful mountain” in french. Gorgeous grand old homes in large lots can be found in Alameda Ridge and scenic views of the city. Wilshire neighborhood also have a similar style as Beaumont, with some homes built in the early 1900s.

Beaumont Wilshire also have great public parks like Grant Park, which is famous for being the setting for Beverly Cleary’s Children’s Books. You can see statues of the main character Ramona, and also Henry Huggins and Ribsy (Henry’s dog) in this park. Another beautiful park in this neighborhood is Wilshire Park, that have plenty of spaces for kids and dogs (off leash) to run around and play.

Another great thing is that Beaumont-Wilshire is close to downtown Portland. It is also accessible by public transportation. This neighborhood is an exquisite residential area with lots of tree-lined streets, and beautiful old homes. Beaumont-Wilshire is also very walkable and bike-friendly.
